SOLSTICE STRING QUARTET
Meghan Cassidy ~ Viola
Meghan Cassidy was born in London in 1988 and currently studies with Garfield Jackson at the Royal Academy of Music. Her previous teachers include Jim Sleigh, Jonathan Barritt and Matthew Souter. Meghan was Principal Violist of the National Youth Orchestra in 2006, has lead the Royal Academy String Orchestra and is currently Principal Violist of the Orion Symphony Orchestra. In 2006 Meghan took part in the LSO String Academy and through that has performed with the LSO as part of the String Experience Scheme. She also takes part in the National Youth Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra's educational outreach programs. She joined the Solstice Quartet in 2007. Meghan has taken part in summer courses with Tatjana Masurenko, Paul Silverthorne and Andriy Viytovych. She also receives regular tuition from Hugh Maguire. Meghan plays a viola by G.B. Ceruti on loan from the Royal Academy of Music.
