'An Education' film release

Members of the quartet can been seen performing Ravel's 'Introduction and Allegro' in the film which is released by Sony Pictures on Friday 30th October. The other performers are Timothy Orpen (Clarinet), Adam Walker (flute) and Keziah Thomas (harp).

Solstice String Quartet awarded the Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Music.

This award will commence in September 2009.

Solstice String Quartet win Royal Overseas League Competition

The quartet were awarded the ensemble award. They will perform in the Prize winners' concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on May 5th.

The Solstice are selected to participate in the 4th International "Joseph Haydn" Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, Austria.

Solstice String Quartet awarded their Purcell Room debut through the Park Lane Group Young Artists Scheme.

The programme will include works by Ligeti, Cutler, Swayne and Kurtag.

Solstice String Quartet selected to participate in the London International String Quartet Competition 2009.

From the initial pre-selection round twelve quartets from across the world have been chosen to participate. The competition takes place between the 30th March and the 6th April 2009. Further details can be found at: http://www.playquartet.com

Eminent composer Giles Swayne offers to write a fourth quartet for the Solstice String Quartet.

Giles Swayne asks the quartet to record his complete quartets in 2010.

Solstice String Quartet awarded Scholarship to study at the International Institute of Chamber Music, Madrid.

The quartet will study every month with Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet) and Heime Müller (ex Artemis Quartet) starting in October 2008.

Solstice String Quartet selected for Juilliard String Quartet Seminar.

The quartet will spend a week at the Juilliard School in May studying with the world-famous Juilliard String Quartet.

Solstice String Quartet selected for Tillett Trust Young Artists' Programme.

The quartet will be represented by the Tillett Trust for a year through which they will give performances around the country. They will make their Wigmore Hall debut on February 16th 2009.
